Newcomers
Arriving in a new country: the documents, the officials and the offers of help that are not what they claim.

Fake officials, landlords and help with papers
Real immigration help is not sold on a random website. Use .gov sites you type yourself, and accredited advice, not a 'notario' who wants cash today.
Job, housing and money-mule offers
You should not pay to get a job. You should not let someone use your bank account. Housing deposits to a personal account you found only in a chat are a warning.
Payment sites that are not the real government
Fines, visa fees and tax are paid on addresses you type yourself. Search adverts and WhatsApp 'officers' are not a till.
Phone and account takeover
One-time codes, SIM changes and reused passwords are how a new phone number becomes someone else's door. Unique secrets and 2-step verification.
Shared phones, public Wi-Fi and translation apps
Cafe Wi-Fi and a borrowed phone are untrusted. Do not bank there. Be careful what you paste into a translator.
Who to tell when you do not have workplace IT
You do not need an employer helpdesk. Tell a trusted person, call the bank on a number you already have, and use official reporting. Beware recovery strangers.
