Why this matters
A held door is an open door

Once someone is inside, they can steal a badge, a laptop, or a conversation. The UK government tailgating brief is blunt: people wait by secure doors, pretend to be on a call, struggle with a box, or dress as delivery. The ask is always the same — let me through with you.
ProtectUK's access-control advice is that staff must feel safe to challenge or report, and that holding doors open is bad practice the system cannot fix by itself.
The rest of this lesson is the habit: one person per pass, and a report when that is not true.
